New Comment

If you’re looking at buying a Home theater speaker system you might want to consider one of the models with wireless rear speakers.

This means you don’t need ugly and/or messy cables running from your control unit / amplifier to the back of your room.

The speakers generally just need to plug into a power point and everything happens wirelessly.

Make sure you remember one thing when you’re looking at loudspeakers - always listen to a few different sets with a piece of music or a movie you’re familiar with.

You’ll be surprised at how different they can sound and the most expensive is certainly not always the best. Let your ears tell you which speakers are the best.

Idea for the Day

Here are some ideas if you’re thinking about buying a Home theater loudspeaker system

They come in a huge range of sizes and shapes, from earth-shaking tower-based systems to modest minis.

The size often changes by price categories. You could generalize and say that bigger is better, but that also depends on how big your listening room is. The speakers need to match your room accoustics. If they’re too big for your room they won’t be able to ‘breathe’ properly and won’t sound as good as they could.

Although we haven't heard every speaker out there, we're confident that, generally, you do get what you pay for.

Remember though to use the most valuable tool in your arsenal - your own ears - when you are choosing loudspeakers.

TV & Home Theater News

Many people think that Rear-projection TVs are old hat. However, there are different types of rear-projection technology and the newer DLP type will give you good viewing results.

However, they don’t equal plasma when it comes to performance. Generally reviewers say the technology isn't up to the standards of either Plasma or LCD TVs. On the other hand, you usually get flat-panel displays with a bigger screen for the same money, or the same size screen for less, so they’ll be lighter on your credit card.

Adult TV

Hey, look out! :-)

If you've got a freakin' huge home theater system with a big juicy plasma TV what better to watch on it than some adult shows.

Now hold on a second . . . I don't know what you're thinking of, but I'm talking about shows like Kentucky Educational Television (KET), The Kentucky Network, who specialise in PBS and distance and adult education.

P.S. Just in case you were thinking of the 'other' type of adult TV check out Miss Playboy TV. :-)
